More Pub Car Parks (Whoops!)

More Pub Car Parks (Whoops!)

I don’t want you to get the wrong idea about Humberto but he does seem to end up in a lot of pub car parks. Our first one, on Friday evening, is set to become a bit of a favourite I think.  The Crown Inn at Cholderton.  It’s literally a 10 minute drive from home.  The pub is lovely and traditional, they do nice food and the car park is big and quiet.   The way I look at it…

Stuck in Old Sarum. A Warning.

Stuck in Old Sarum. A Warning.

“Prevention is better than Cure” goes the saying. How about “Not parking on soggy, sloping, grass in the first place is better than tricks and tips to get out of it”? We decided to go fairly local this weekend, to avoid the traffic hassles of a typical Friday evening rush-hour(s).  The very first place we ever stayed in Humberto was C&CC at Old Sarum, Salisbury (almost exactly a year ago). It’s a nice site with a pedestrian/Cycle path into Salisbury running…

A Tale of Three Car Parks

A Tale of Three Car Parks

As you may know, if you read our Blog, we are finding harder and harder to stay at home at the weekend.  Even as I type this, on Tuesday, I’m thinking, “Where can we go on Friday?”. VIDEO – Devizes and the Caen Locks

We overnighted at Caen Hill, right next to the legendary flight of canal Locks.  You can see us in the car park, with some Dutch campers (I think it’s because the car park is mentioned in a Dutch Motorhome Site phone App). It costs £8 for 24 hours and it’s totally peaceful once the dog-walkers and general public have driven home.  It’s quite busy until about 6pm though.

MOTs & Rivermead..When you just need to get away

MOTs & Rivermead..When you just need to get away

Humberto just passed his MOT!  Hard to believe we’ve owned him for a year already, in fact I had to check I wasn’t going crazy.   We had an initial MOT fail due to our high-level brake light not working.  When I got it home it had started to work but clearly most of the 10 LED bulbs were dead.  I ordered a replacement and fitted it (a simple job involving 2 screws, 2 wires and a squirt of silicon…

Video – A Quick Summary of our France 2017 trip

Video – A Quick Summary of our France 2017 trip

I apologise for the lack of any explanations or dialogue.  It’s simply a few video “snapshots” of our trip.  I think their primary use will be to remind ME where we went.   I’m really finding it difficult, after 79 nights away this first year of ownership, to remember exactly where we’ve been and in what order we went there.
